Burglars told the mother of the Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard they would "take her kids" during a terrifying raid at their home, a jury was told yesterday.
Alex Curran confronted the masked six-strong gang, who demanded she palm over trinket and the essence of a safe. Details of the distress in Dec 2007, whilst Gerrard was afar personification opposite Marseille, emerged after one of the defendants, Martin Wilson, 22, certified burglary.
Ms Curran, 27, had remained at home in Formby, Merseyside, with the couples children, Lilly-Ella and Lexie, right away 6 and four, and their nanny, Lyndsey Johnston. The palace had high walls, a blockade and electronic gates. The women and young kids were in their bedrooms at about 9.30pm when they listened a shrill pound downstairs.
The thieves raced the upper story and one swore whilst perfectionist money and jewels. One told an additional to "get the knife edge out of the car", afterwards told Ms Curran, "If you dont discuss it us where the protected is, we"ll take the kids". The men "dragged" Ms Curran downstairs to the protected but it was as well complicated to move and the squad left with jewellery. The hearing continues at Liverpool Crown Court.
